THE RESEARCH HUB
The CMR Research Hub is multi-disciplinary and multi-stakeholder platform that aims to foster the culture of research among students, lawyers, and members of the society from across all disciplines. It will do so by hosting essay writing competitions, compendiums and colloquiums in partnerships with various institutions of higher learning, government entities as well as other civil society actors. Additionally, this docket of CMR seeks to run a journal dubbed “The CMR Journal” which will periodically publish thematic articles in collaboration with the Moots docket.
AREA OF FOCUS
- Providing methodological and thematic inputs in support of students’ academic research work
- Enhancing access to justice to the vulnerable communities in the rural areas across Africa
- Offering opportunities for students to practice their presentation skills and receive feedback on their research from peers and facilitators/experts
- Strengthening the research skills of future policy developers and fostering cross-regional academic connections through moot court competitions and essay writing competitions
- Utilizing different networks established through various development partners to empower qualified Youth in various opportunities
Secondly, the Research-Hub sets in motion and runs active dialogue on emerging legal issues in the society. This is through hosting of active conversations through blogs, social media spaces such as twitter spaces and newspaper columns among others. The platform invites commentaries on recently decided cases and publishes regular reports on the same. This sets the conversation going and allows all persons in the society including the youth to participate in legal dialogues.
