Bridging Gaps and Transforming Lives

The Justice Support Hub

CMR-Africa boasts of highly qualified professionals consisting of a Team of young agile advocates of the High Court of Kenya qualified to practice as such in Kenya. The Team of advocates plays a pivotal role in reaching out to vulnerable families and indigent litigants in the rural areas with deserving cases that require urgent attention through strategic litigation in safeguarding justice. Through partnerships with African law schools, the legal aid team is positioned to respond to rising demands for justice in rural areas through strategic litigation on various areas including children’s rights, refugee rights, women’s rights among others.

Moreover, CMR-Africa has partnered with young lawyers, Kenya’s Judiciary, several development partners, leveraging on the existing frameworks, with key stakeholders such as law schools, government agencies and other development partners at the regional and national levels to create a formidable legal aid center mandated to enhance access to justice through active sensitization programs in rural areas.

The Justice Support hub seeks to reinforce the potentially important role of young African lawyers in Africa’s developmental agenda through championing access to justice. For far too long many young Africans are still jobless, and struggle to access public resources, quality legal, and social services. They are barely involved in policy formulation and programme design as their participation in politics and decision-making is limited and often ad hoc. They suffer great injustice due to lack of sensitization on contemporary legal affairs.

The Justice Support hub remains a critical pillar to offer strategic litigation services to deserving indigent litigants and increase sensitization and awareness initiatives covering niche legal issues such as, biosafety laws, climate justice, data protection, technology and the law among others.
